Choose the texture as well as the colour
Look at how the finish will feel underfoot, including in wet conditions. Match the texture to the way you use the entrance.
The appearance of stone, slate or setts in a formed concrete surface. Look beyond the pattern to consider movement, drainage and long-term care.

Pattern imprinted concrete is coloured and textured while the concrete is workable. It is sometimes described as stamped concrete. It can create a coordinated driveway and path, with different borders or patterns marking each area.
Concrete needs planned joints and a suitable construction. It is not a crack-proof or completely joint-free option. A later repair can be harder to blend into the existing pattern and colour than replacing an individual paving block.

Movement and construction details need to be planned alongside the decorative pattern, rather than treated as an afterthought.
Ask about compatible sealers, cleaning methods and future maintenance. A glossy appearance is not the only consideration for an outdoor vehicle surface.

Before choosing an imprint, check that the car, door opening and walking route fit the layout. A different surface will not solve a driveway that is too short.
Give the same project details when comparing options. A surface price alone rarely tells the whole story.
Understand the cost factorsA plain or textured concrete finish may suit a practical area. The loading, joints, drainage and finish still need a project-specific specification.
No concrete driveway should be sold as guaranteed never to crack. Ground conditions, construction and joint design all matter.
Repairs may be visible because of differences in colour, texture and weathering. Discuss likely appearance before choosing a repair approach.
